Attorney General suit says families received untrained service dogs

A lawsuit filed by Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring against a company that he says scammed needy families out of thousands of dollars by selling them untrained or disobedient service dogs will continue.
The owner of Service Dogs by Warren Retrievers had been granted a demurrer by a state judge after an attorney for CEO Charles Warren argued that Warren himself could not be sued over violations because he did not personally train the dogs.
Herring accuses Warren of a breach of the Consumer Protection Act when complaints were filed by families whose loved ones deal with diabetes and seizures or have children within the autism spectrum that received dogs the attorney general said placed lives in danger because the canines did not provide assistance and instead became high-priced pets.
The Warren non-profit group filed for bankruptcy last year.
