Northam: Virginia can achieve President Biden goal of getting all residents eligible for COVID vaccine by May 1

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam is confident the Commonwealth can get all Virginians eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine by May 1.
Northam posted that message to Facebook following President Joe Biden’s address to the nation where he directed states to expand vaccine eligibility to all adults by the beginning of May.
Northam in part said that the goal is ambitious but can be achieved. Northam also stated in his post that the state can celebrate independence from COVID-19 by July 4 if residents continue to get vaccinated and follow public health guidelines.
