UPDATE: SW Virginia woman labeled ‘the killer clown’ has request to go free until trial denied

The suspected killer clown from Southwest Virginia will remain in a Palm Beach County, Florida detention center until her long-awaited murder trial.

A judge has denied Shelia Keen-Warren’s request to be released from jail and stay with her son until her September court date because of the weight of the evidence against her.

The Abingdon, Virginia woman who was the co-owner of a Kingsport drive-thru restaurant for years is accused of dressing like a clown and shooting Marlene Warren at her Florida home in 1990.

Meanwhile, Shelia Warren’s attorney has filed a motion to have the case dismissed because of information contained in a 1999 internal audit report that said some of the evidence in the case had been contaminated.
