NEW: Jury trial for Bristol Virginia policeman charged with murder set for January 2022

Circuit Court officials have set a jury trial date of January 19, 2022 for a Bristol Virginia policeman charged with murder in connection to a shooting in March.

Jonathan Brown posted bail one week ago and was released from jail after his arrest. He was indicted by a grand jury for the murder of Jonathen Kohler, 31, of Bristol, Tennessee who was sitting inside his vehicle in a motel parking lot when he was shot.

Bristol police reported earlier this year that Kohler sped toward Brown and the officer opened fire.
