Virginia Health Department Reports First Confirmed Case Of Omicron Variant
Virginia State Health Commissioner Norman Oliver said it would only be a matter of time before the Commonwealth sees it’s first case of the Omicron Variant of COVID19. And Oliver was right. Health Officials in Virginia are reporting its first confirmed case of the Omicron virus, a spinoff of COVID19. VDH says the variant was identified in a sample from an adult resident in the Northwest Region of Virginia. The infected individual had no history of international travel, but did travel domestically, during the exposure period. The Omicron Variant has now been identified in 21 other states.
