Car Explodes In Kingsport Shopping Center Parking Lot, Individual Receives Minor Injuries

An individual in Kingsport escapes serious injuries Thursday when the car he was in exploded after the victim lit a cigarette. The Kingsport Fire Department responded to the parking lot at the Kingsport Target Store where the victim told fire officials he lit a cigarette which ignited with fumes from a cleaning solution used on the interior of the vehicle. The driver of the car received only minor injuries, but the vehicle was heavily damaged including a blown out front windshield.
