Two men are in jail after police say they stole a semi-truck from a property in Johnson City early Monday morning. Michael Gray of Greeneville and George Coffey of Johnson City were arrested after an investigation revealed they stole a semi-truck from a business lot and drove it through a fence on the outskirts of the property.
According to a police report, the tuck was stolen Monday at around 2 AM near University Parkway, and officers located the men in the truck around 3:30 on Indian Ridge Road. The passenger, Coffey, fled on foot once a traffic stop was attempted. He and the driver, Michael Gray, were apprehended and taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
