Town of Abingdon conducting fireworks test on March 9

The Town of Abingdon says a firework test is happening on Wednesday night at Latture Field. Officials are running this test to determine the visible sight distance of firework displays to prepare for summer. This brief test will consist of a series of single-shots over an estimated 15-minute time frame, beginning at 7 PM.

The town encourages residents to take necessary precautions, especially for animals and pets. This test is weather-permitting and updates can be found on the Town of Abingdon’s social media page.
