Johnson City secures bid to become new post-season home for Big South Conference basketball

A joint news conference was held in Johnson City to announce an agreement with the Big South Conference and their plans to have their men’s and women’s basketball tournament in Freedom Hall for the next two years beginning in March.

Big South Commissioner Sherika Montgomery said Johnson City was granted the winning bid to become the league’s post-season home because the locale featured all the qualities to offer a supreme experience for their student athletes.
