Ballad Health now caring for residents after assisted living facility closes

Ballad Health released a statement overnight that said they are now caring for over a dozen residents affected by a sudden closure of a regional assisted living facility. They say the closure of the Sunset Gardens facility in Mountain City came with no warning from the State of Tennessee. Ballad Health said the affected residents are being cared for at hospitals including Johnson County Community, Sycamore Shoals, Franklin Woods Community and Johnson City Medical Center. The health system said the families of affected residents can contact the Tennessee Department of Health for more information.
