US Senator calls problems at Johnson City’s VA Med Center ‘extremely disturbing’

Allegations of extremely disturbing cases of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and improper interpersonal relationships have been reported by employees at the Mountain Home Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Johnson City.

House Committee Veterans Chairman Congressman Mike Bost has sent his second letter to the Biden-Harris administration requesting full disclosure for an immediate investigation on the details brought by whistleblowers. The committee report said they have repeatedly uncovered cases of mismanagement and misconduct in Johnson City and they accuse VA senior leaders of ignoring those concerns.

The VA Medical Center’s temporary director resigned last month and the assistant director has been transferred to a Nashville VA office.
