Former Tazewell teacher receives more than 100 years in prison for child porn production

Former high school and elementary teacher John Michael Sharpe received 193 years in prison from a Circuit Court judge after he was found guilty by a Tazewell County jury one year ago of enticing a juvenile to perform in pornography.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Christopher Plaster said Sharpe still refuses to admit guilt in the case and tries to lay blame on the victim while breaking the trust of the student.

Investigators said a majority of the crimes took place off campus and Sharpe did not engage in a physical relationship with the victim.
