Police find 2023 Nashville school shooter sought notoriety, hid mental health from medical providers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Police say the shooter behind the 2023 Nashville elementary school attack that killed six people, including three children, had been planning it for years while hiding their mental health issues from medical providers.

A new report released Wednesday by Metro Nashville Police closes the investigation into the shooting at The Covenant School in March 2023.

The investigation also found that no manifesto existed. Instead, there was a series of notebooks, art composition books and media files that documented the planning, the events that motivated the attack and hopes for the outcome of the attack.
