Sullivan County Assessors office extends time to make appointments

After the new Sullivan County property tax assessments have landed in residents mailboxes, with many residents seeing their assessments double, the Assessor’s Office has been bombarded with phone calls for appointments to contest those figures. That has now led the Assessor’s Office to extend the deadline for residents to make appointments to contest those values to next week. The extension comes after media reports of many residents unable to get in contact with the assessor’s office, that the office says is due to the extremely heavy call volume. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and the phone number is 423-323-6455.
