Carter County Schools looking at new turf football fields

Carter County Schools is looking at installing turf football fields at Cloudland and Happy Valley high schools. The school district announced Wednesday in a news release that administrators will propose upgrading the fields. Carter County Schools provided the low bid that will be proposed to the board of education which comes from Baseline Sports with a total cost of over $1.6 million. School officials emphasized in the release that none of the funds for Hampton High School’s repairs after Hurricane Helene damage will be allocated for the new turf projects.
