Kingsport selects new Chief of Police

The City of Kingsport has selected a new Police Chief. Jason Bellamy will serve as the new Chief of Police for the City of Kingsport. Bellamy will become the 16th Chief of Police after current Chief Dale Phipps retires later this month. Bellamy is a Hawkins County native and joined the Kingsport force in 1998. Bellamy has served in various roles within the department, including patrol officer, detective, commander and deputy chief. Bellamy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Education from ETSU and he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico and the National Forensic Academy in Knoxville.
