THP: Pedestrian injured in 19E accident

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a pedestrian was transported to an area hospital Friday after they were hit by a vehicle while walking down Highway 19E. The incident took place Friday night at around 9:40 p.m. A vehicle was traveling south on Highway 19E near the Northeast Community Credit Union when it hit a person walking northbound in the southbound lane. The pedestrian was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash and the driver was not injured. No charges are pending.
