Suspect in 2022 bee attack in Massachusetts arrested in Kingsport

A Massachusetts woman responsible for one of the nation’s most bizarre attacks on police officers has been arrested in Kingsport.

A published report said Rorie Susan Woods, also known as Rebecca Woods, was staying at a Model City motel when she was taken into custody. Woods was scheduled to stand trial in Massachusetts one week ago for unleashing swarms of bees on officers in 2022.

Woods agitated the bees that began stinging the law enforcement personnel on the scene to carry out a home eviction. Woods had hauled the beehives to the scene on a trailer prior to the incident. The report said one of the officers allergic to bees had to be hospitalized.

Woods will likely receive extradition papers in Kingsport during her court hearing scheduled for August 21st.
