UPDATE: Daycare investigated for child abuse back in operation

An Abingdon daycare investigated by local law enforcement for child abuse earlier this year is accepting applications from parents once again.

A post on social media from the operators of Blue Mountain Therapy Childcare said they have entered into an agreement with the VA Department of Education to continue operations. The agency had notified Blue Mountain of their intent to revoke their license back in June based on criminal charges placed against former workers Rachel Puckett and Ambrosia Monk for allegedly spanking, smacking, tripping and encouraging children to hit and kick a fellow student.

The Facebook post from Blue Mountain said new staff and management has been hired, cameras have been installed in all rooms and workers have recently completed training sessions.
