WCSO VA arrests Mount Carmel man on child sex charges

A Mount Carmel man traveled to Washington County, Virginia, believing he would meet a juvenile and take them to Tennessee for sexual acts has been arrested. The Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office says 51 year old Richard M. Holtzclaw was taken into custody without incident. Deputies also discovered he was in possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and was wanted in Hawkins County. Holtzclaw is facing multiple charges including 40 counts of taking indecent liberties with children and attempted kidnapping. Holtzclaw is being held without bond as detectives continue to investigate items seized from his possession that may contain child pornography.
