Volunteers wanted for help with reconstruction of Coomes Rec Center playground

The town of Abingdon is asking community members to volunteer for the reconstruction of the Coomes Recreation Center’s playground. The original playground, built by the community 30 years ago, is set to receive several upgrades. The Parks and Recreation Department received input from local children to design the new playground, which will feature a castle and dragon theme. The construction is scheduled to take place from September 9 through September 15.
