Unicoi County Animal Shelter names new director

The Unicoi County Animal Shelter has appointed Mollie Haren as its new director, effective August 15. Haren takes over as the shelter begins to rebuild following its destruction from Hurricane Helene a year ago. Haren says that the ultimate goal is to establish a spay-neuter clinic on-site, and she emphasized the shelter’s appreciation for any donations to support this initiative. The shelter is in the process of selecting from construction bids for the rebuilding and hopes to break ground in the coming weeks.
