$1.5 billion uranium project awarded to Nuclear Fuel Services

BWX Technologies, the parent company of Erwin’s Nuclear Fuel Service, has been awarded a $1.5 billion contract from US nuclear leaders to develop domestic uranium for use in naval defense.
Erwin’s plant will construct a uranium enrichment centrifuge experiment and with permitting and facility prep, provide a reliable source of domestic uranium, according to a BWX report.
US defense agencies currently receive uranium for their projects from Russia, Canada, Australia and Kazakhstan.
