Active investigation begins into shots fired incident on Johnson City’s East Watauga Avenue

Johnson City police say they have the evidence of a shooting taking place Thursday afternoon.

A city report said a stating shots were fired was made to 911 and officers arrived in the 1600 block of East Watauga Avenue just before 1:30 pm.

Investigators recovered several shell casings from that area and no injuries from the shooting have been reported.

Police are also asking residents or businesses for any video surveillance footage that contains the area of the 1600 block of East Watauga. Crimestoppers is also accepting anonymous tips on the incident and the investigation remains active.
