Police: Investigation started after viral video shows toddler being forcefully kicked
Outrage and concern have followed a viral video clip loaded to several social media platforms from a violent incident of child abuse in Dickenson County, Virginia.
The vantage point of the clip is from a doorbell camera and shows a man kicking over a toddler with force that sends the child across the area. A woman then comes to comfort the little boy, picks him up and says to the child, “…he didnt mean to.”
The Clintwood Police Department is aware of the video, according to their statement online, and started their investigation, ending with no other public comment will be made while the investigation continues.
A report from the Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office said Clintwood is the lead agency in the case and urged social media viewers to refrain from sharing or reposting that content, adding the sensitive content could further harm the individuals involved.
