TBI says Summer Wells case still active
TBI confirms that the Summer Wells case is far from cold. Summer Wells was reported missing from her home in the Beech Creek Community of Hawkins County more than four years ago. The TBI, the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, continue to investigate what happened to Summer. On November 13, investigators were in the 3500 block of Van Hill Road, about 9.5 miles from the Wells’ family home, following up on a lead in the case. The TBI was asked if the agency could provide details about the tip, a spokesperson could not release any details but said agents continue to follow up on leads as they come in and the investigation remains active and ongoing. There is still an active AMBER alert for Summer, and no one has been arrested or charged in connection with her disappearance.
