Bristol VA man facing drug charges after traffic stop
The Bristol Virginia Police Department arrested a man after a traffic stop led to the discovery of nearly a pound of meth and an ounce of fentanyl. During the search, officers recovered a substantial quantity of illegal narcotics, including approximately one pound of Methamphetamine, approximately one ounce of Fentanyl, and cash. 47 year old, Matthew Abel, of Bristol, Virginia, was charged with two felony counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute and two felony counts of Transporting Controlled Substances into the Commonwealth of Virginia. Abel was transported to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon and was released on a $5,000 bond.
