Kingsport man facing more than 20 animal cruelty related charges
A Kingsport man is facing more than twenty charges after several dogs are discovered living in poor conditions in the home. Kingsport Police officers responded to the home of Stephon States and found 22 dogs, including six puppies. Investigators said 11 of the dogs were severely emaciated, with ribs and spines clearly visible. Several dogs were lying in their own urine inside crates, and none of the animals had access to adequate food, water, or proper shelter. All 22 dogs were removed from the home. States was taken into custody and is now charged with 22 counts of Cruelty to Animals and Resisting. The rescued dogs are now receiving veterinary care.
