State investigators accuse Rogersville farmer of defrauding cost-share program
A Hawkins County resident turned himself in to law enforcement following a TBI investigation into his farming operation.
Agents determined that Jerry Clinton Lawson, 53, of Rogersville used a scam to obtain $20,000 in reimbursements from a Department of Agriculture cost-share program by falsely reporting purchasing machines and lumber for his farm.
Lawson was indicted by a grand jury on five counts of theft, two counts of attempted theft and 10 counts of forgery.
