Trashy behavior results in recycle center shutdown in Greeneville
Misuse of receptacles and constant litter problems were the reasons behind the town of Greeneville eliminating recycling containers at the Greene County Partnership site.
A town report said patrons ignored signs and placed loose recyclables on the ground and round the containers, leading to unsightly conditions and potential environmental hazards.
The statement said continued litter activities could lead to more containers being removed. Those are currently located at the Greene County Farmer’s Co-op, Greeneville Middle School and Hal Henard Elementary.
