Bob Harshbarger Jr. announces run for Sullivan County Commission after Trump pardon
Bob Harshbarger Jr., the husband of Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger and father of state Sen. Bobby Harshbarger, has submitted a petition to run for Sullivan County Commission. Harshbarger was convicted of felony charges more than a decade ago but became eligible to run for office when he was pardoned by President Donald Trump last November. In 2013, he pleaded guilty to distributing misbranded kidney dialysis drugs and health care fraud and was sentenced to two years in prison. He was also ordered to forfeit $425,000 and pay a $25,000 fine plus more than $848,000 in restitution. In 2024, Harshbarger was also accused of stealing and vandalizing campaign signs belonging to his son’s political opponent, Sen. Jon Lundberg, but the case was ultimately dismissed.
