Pennyman’s Diner in JC announces permanent closure
Pennyman’s Diner in Johnson City announced it has closed its doors for good as the buildings owner says the age of the building and outdated equipment can’t be easily repaired. A social media post by the diner on Thursday said its local fire department had employees halt business operations on Wednesday. The post said that the building could not be brought to code, leaving owners with no other option but to find a new location or close permanently. Johnson City fire marshal Steven Alexander said these violations have been ongoing. Pennyman’s apologized to customers and staff for closing on short notice.
