King University Athletics announces death of women’s golf team member Matilda Svensson
King University Athletics social media page contains more than 300 responses to the post announcing the death of Tornado women’s golf team member Matilda Svensson.
The junior from Oxie, Sweden was a business managment and marketing major at the Bristol, Tennessee school, according to the team’s webpage. Svensson was placed on the Conference Carolina’s Players to Watch list for 2026.
A cause of death was not listed as part of the tribute.
Teammate Kate Watanasiripong wrote: “Matlida was a great friend. She was a hard worker both in the classroom and on the golf course. She was always there when people needed her the most.”
