More corrections office personnel injured in Wallens Ridge incident

The Virginia Department of Corrections has confirmed that several corrections team members were involved in an incident at Wallens Ridge State Prison in Big Stone Gap on March 3. Four corrections team members required off-site medical attention after the incident and that two of those members “were injured while on the way to respond to the incident.” All inmates involved in the incident were treated at Wallens Ridge State Prison for superficial injuries.
