Schools locked down after inmate escape at Hancock County Jail

All Hancock County, Tennessee schools have been placed on lockdown after a murder suspect escaped from the county jail.

Officers are currently searching for Joshua Wayne Metcalf who was arrested in January of 2024 and charged with the murder of his brother Jared Metcalf.

According to the TBI information, their agents worked alongside Hancock investigators after Jared Metcalf’s body was found near property on Possum Trott Road in Kyles Ford.
