THP: motorcyclist charged after hitting parked police cruiser
Tennessee Highway Patrol said a person was charged after a motorcycle crashed into a parked Johnson City Police Department car on Interstate 26 near Exit 23, Friday night. A 2002 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by 28 year old, Tyler Puffenbarger, was headed eastbound on I-26 at 9:40 p.m. and was unable to negotiate a left-hand curve. Puffenbarger lost control and struck a Johnson City Police car that was parked legally on the shoulder, monitoring traffic. Puffenbarger was charged with driving on a revoked license and financial responsibility. The THP said his license was previously revoked for a DUI charge. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
