Washington County, TN commissioners set to vote on new hazard mitigation plan
Washington County Tennessee Commissioners are set to vote on an updated hazard mitigation plan for the first time since Helene on Monday. These plan updates are required by the state every five years. The plan comes after meetings between first responders and key officials in Washington County, Johnson City and Jonesborough. The plan includes response plans not just for weather events, but also for disease outbreaks, earthquakes, wildfires, and attacks to infrastructure. Monday’s meeting is set for 6 p.m.
