Large power outage in Elizabethton Sunday due to “wildlife activity”

A large power outage was reported Sunday afternoon impacting parts of Elizabethton, lower Stoney Creek, Watauga, and Biltmore. According to the City of Elizabethton, three Elizabethton Electric Department substations lost power due to wildlife activity. Power was fully resorted by 1:30 p.m. with approximately 11,000 customers impacted, according to the city.
