Bristol TN looks to limit where recreational substance stores can locate with new ordinance
A rezoning ordinance that would limit where recreational substance shops would go in Bristol, TN was approved on its first reading by the city council Tuesday night. In Bristol, Virginia, a proposed ordinance would prohibit shops from opening within 500 feet of any school, daycare or park as Bristol, Tennessee looks to implement similar measures. Some of the products listed in the proposed ordinance include tobacco products like cigarettes and smokeless tobacco, kratom, and any product that contains hemp, THC or THCA. The ordinance now goes back to the planning commission and will be back at the city council during its August meeting for a public hearing and second reading.
