THP: Greene County Sheriff’s Office vehicle crash injures driver and inmate passenger

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that the driver of a Greene County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and an inmate who was being transported were injured on Thursday after the vehicle crashed into a tree. The crash happened on State Route 93, at Airport Road, at 6:18 p.m. The driver of the sheriff’s office vehicle was reportedly injured in the crash. The severity of those injuries has not been released. The passenger, described as an inmate, was also injured in the crash. The vehicle was traveling north on Kingsport Highway when it ran off the left side of the road and then hit a tree. No charges were listed.
