Children used as contraband smugglers at jail, Washington County couple charged
A Washington County, Tennessee couple used children visiting the Correctional Center to smuggle in narcotics and contraband, according to investigators.
Kayden Daniel Stafford, 19, would receive the drugs from the kids brought in by Daisia Purcell, who was arrested in April and is currently awaiting an August 7th hearing in Circuit Court after her charges were bound over to a grand jury.
Stafford faces six counts of introduction of contraband and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is serving a three-year sentence for his part in a string of auto burglaries beginning in 2023.
