THP: Motorcyclist airlifted after crashing during Carter County pursuit
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist was airlifted due to his injuries Tuesday night following a pursuit with deputies in Carter County. The crash report says a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Highway 19E while reportedly fleeing Carter County deputies at around 9:52 p.m. Tuesday. The motorcycle entered the continuous left-turn lane while trying to negotiate a curve, approached a bridge with a concrete barrier dividing the north and south lanes the hit the barrier. The motorcyclist, a 62-year-old man, was airlifted to the Johnson City Medical Center. Charges are pending.
