Treasurer of Valley Forge Youth Club charged with embezzlement

Investigators presented evidence of thousands of dollars being used from a Carter County youth group bank account to finance more than $6,300 in personal purchases by a club official.

Kristen Hampton, 52, was arrested Friday and charged with embezzlement The county report said Hampton admitted to using the account of the Valley Forge Youth Club over the past three months to pay for food, gasoline, to make payments on personal loans, and purchase water park tickets.

Hampton, who served as treasurer, was released from jail after posting a $6,000 bond.
