Independent candidate David Hatley pledges $1 million to charity in exchange for debate

The race for Tennessee governor is heating up with a million-dollar dare. Independent candidate David Hatley has pledged to donate one million dollars to three state charities if Republican frontrunner Marsha Blackburn agrees to a debate. Hatley wants a three-way showdown in Nashville on October eighth alongside Democratic nominee Jerri Green. While Green says she is ready to face off, Senator Blackburn has previously refused to debate during this election cycle. If Blackburn accepts the challenge, the million dollars will be split between a women’s safe house, a food bank, and a veterans association.
