DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day coming up October 24
If you have old or expired medications piling up in your cabinet you can get rid of them safely. Saturday, October 24th, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, police departments, sheriff’s offices, and health clinics across East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia will be setting up free, anonymous drop-off sites. Local health officials warn that flushing pills or tossing them in the trash can pollute water and soil. This event accepts tablets, capsules, patches, and sealed liquids, but does not accept needles and sharps.
