Greeneville’s Ja’Kobi Gillespie scores first NBA bucket against Oklahoma City
A milestone was made this week in the NBA career of Greeneville native Ja’Kobi Gillespie as the former Greene Devil and Tennessee Volunteer scored his first points in his first regular season game.
Gillespie bucket came in the closing seconds of San Antonio’s opening loss to Oklahoma City with a running layup to the rim. Gillespie was the 42nd overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft and signed with the Spurs in July.
