DEVELOPING: Carter County convicted killer’s stolen truck found in Illinois

TUESDAY, 2 p.m. EST

A development in the search for state escapee and convicted killer Jacob Morley from Carter County.

A flatbed truck Morley stole from an agriculture-based business in Tiptonville, Tennessee, after his prison escape was found abandoned Tuesday afternoon two hours north in Marion, Illinois, according to a TBI update published Tuesday afternoon.

Morley, serving a life sentence for the murder of Carter County resident Cody Birchfield, could kill again according to Cody’s close childhood friend Diana Reid, who told Fox News Digital she was concerned that someone who committed such a violent crime escaped and that Birchfield was capable of frightening acts. Morley was added to the TBI’s top ten most wanted list on Monday.
