Two Vehicle Crash In Wise County Injures Six…Driver Charged

Six people received serious injuries after a two vehicle crash in Wise County on Friday. According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred in the 68 hundred block of Orby Cantrell Highway in Wise County around four oclock Friday afternoon. 56 year old Mattie Archer, of Pound, Virginia was seriously injured when his 2013 Nissan SUV pulled into the path of a northbound 2000 Dodge Durango. Archer, and an 88 year old passenger received serious injuries. The driver of the Durango, 53 year old Mackfarlin Paragon of Clincho, Virginia and his three passengers were all transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. All but one passenger were wearing seatbelts. Archer was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
