Mt. Rogers Health District: COVID-19 vaccine appointment slots available on health district website

COVID-19 appointment slots in the Mount Rogers Health District will soon be visible on the health district website.
The appointment slots will be for the health district’s vaccine clinics and those eligible in Virginia to get vaccinated includes anyone 65 and older, as well individuals 16 and older with underlying medical conditions.
“These appointment slots will be limited and available to eligible individuals on a first-come, first-served basis,” said Dr. Karen Shelton, health director. “Eligible 16- and 17-year olds should carefully note if a clinic is offering Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, or Pfizer; Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are only approved for those 18 and older.”
Appointments are required, and walk-ins cannot be accommodated.

Health department staff will begin filling appointment slots from the waitlist via email or phone appointment offers. If clinic slots are open within 24 hours of it opening, a registration link will be posted on the district website.
This feature is not currently being offered in the Cumberland Plateau and LENOWISCO Health Districts.
