VSP investigating fatal Wise County crash

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened in Wise County Sunday. Police said that a 2015 Lincoln MKC was headed north on Route 23 in Wise, when it crossed the center line and hit a 2023 Kia head-on. The driver of the Lincoln, 73 year old Marlene Gilliam of Wise died at the hospital. The driver of the Kia was reported to have suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. The crash is under investigation.
